Leo Fulgencio: In the News

Bridge Scholar Leo was able to score acceptances at both San Diego State University and California State University: Long Beach to further her dreams of becoming a nurse. With the help of Bridge mentors, she was awarded over $30,000 in scholarships, not including aid from universities themselves. Read more in The Garden Isle.

2022 Grove Farm Scholar Aiden Gregerson


A mentee of Kevin McPhee, a Bridge Board member and veteran mentor, Aiden Gregerson secured one of three prestigious Grove Farm Scholarships available to Kauaʻi public high school seniors. Watching Aiden grow and develop his academic interests was a pleasure for the Bridge. Aiden is now attending Columbia University in New York City, where he is studying neuroscience and computer science. 

Sofia's Summer in Spain

Sofia Saunders had the amazing opportunity to travel, learn, and live with a host family in Spain this past summer. Accepted to a program with the American Field Service (one of our favorite organizations to set Bridge Kids up) with help of the Bridge, Sofia worked on honing her Spanish language skills. Kayla's Journey to Washington DC

At just 15, outstanding Bridge Kid Kayla Karimi was accepted to the National Student Leadership Conference on Medicine and Health  in Washington, DC. With the help of her mentor and some Bridge funding and grants, Kayla traveled to DC to explore her dream of one day working in the medical field. Read more about Kayla's journey via her blog.
